Growing up on a farm it was inevitable that later in life I would end up working outdoors in some way or another. I started my journey to where I am today with an apprenticeship with Brentwood District Council within the parks department. There I gained experience in a broad range of activities, from parks and gardens to nursery management and everything in between.
What I got most enjoyment from was anything sports related. Learning the skills to manage football and rugby pitches, bowling greens, athletic fields and cricket tables I gained the experience that is transferable to ensure the maintenance of quality lawns for your home or business.
During this time is when I gained my passion for turf. Whilst working, I studied at Writtle College for three years where I achieved a City and Guilds in both horticulture and golf and sports turf management.
I then decided to take a fantastic opportunity to work at one of Essex’s top Golf Clubs where I perfected my turf skills in the role of deputy course manager.
Now as Cross Cut Lawns I’d like to share my knowledge and experience with you to provide the lawn that you can enjoy and will be the envy of others.
